Convert your CGPA to a percentage using the formulas most Indian universities and boards use. Enter your CGPA on a 10-point scale and all three common conversions appear together.
The formulas
- AICTE: Percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. AICTE recommended this for engineering and technical programmes, and many universities follow it.
- CBSE: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. Used for older CBSE class 10 grade reports.
- Simple: CGPA × 10. Some institutes accept this when they have no official formula.
Example
A CGPA of 8.2 is 74.5% by the AICTE formula, 77.9% by the CBSE formula and 82% by the simple method. The gap between methods is why employers and admission offices ask for your university's official conversion certificate.
Your university's ordinance or the back of your marksheet always overrides a generic formula. If it states a conversion, use that.
